ADVANCED BIOLOGY

Course Decription & Outline:

This course will be an integration of the diversity of life. Students will become more knowlegable about the various organisms within each kingdom of life. 

​

1st 9 weeks: Classification Review, Microbiology: viruses and bacteria

2nd 9 weeks: Protists & Fungi

3rd 9 weeks: Botany

4th 9 weeks: Zoology: Invertebrates

WEEKLY SYLLABUS:

4th Nine Weeks:

- Plants Part 1: Diversity & Life Cycles of Mosses, Ferns, Gymnosperms, and Angiosperms

​

- Plants Part 2: Plant Physiology: Study of the Roots, Stems, and Leaves

​

- Invertebrates:

          Sponges & Cnidarians

          Worms & Mollusks

          Arthropods & Echinoderms

End of First Nine Weeks:

​

Informative writing on the rise of drug (antibiotic) resistant bacteria!

I. Each person at a table, choose a different article from this list to review. Write two thorough, detailed paragraphs, one each for a(an) A) Summary/overview of information from the article, and 2) Personal reflection with opinions and questions from yourself.
